Give your views on future of Peasedown toilet
A hot spot for anti-social behaviour and drug abuse at Greenland's Road public toilets, Peasedown St. John is temporarily closed so that Bath & North East Somerset Council can decide what to do with the facility.
The closure has the support of the Radstock Neighbourhood Policing Team who reported concerns to the Council that the toilets were not being used by the public and mainly by drug users. The Council is now wants to hear views from the local community about whether or not the toilets should be closed permanently.
Councillor David Dixon (Lib-Dem, Oldfield), Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said, "It is clear that from the feedback Bath & North East Somerset Council has received from the Police and Ward Councillors there is a clear case for closing these public toilets on a temporary basis. This gives the relevant authorities an opportunity to seek wider views from the public about what the future of these toilets should be."
The Council will listen to any views that people may have up to Monday 5th March 2012 via email public_protection@bathnes.gov.uk or telephone 01225 396914.
The Ward Councillors for Peasedown – Councillors Sarah Bevan and Nathan Hartley are also keen to hear the views of local people about the future of the toilet block.
Councillor Hartley said, "We welcome this opportunity for people to have their say about the public toilets which residents regularly tell us are a problem. We hope as many people as possible have their say by contacting the Council or ourselves."

“Shouldn't the council be temporarily closing down the whole of Peasedown St John, for the same reasons?”
