A hair-raising story of an old moustache
Having been bequeathed this singular item in 1991, Bramwell made it his life mission to uncover the identity of its former owner, leading him to seances, spiritual churches and (unwittingly) become the host of a modern-day freak show.
Things turned really odd however after he joined a cult, began dabbling in Columbian hallucinogens and encountered former Dali model and mustachioed eccentric, Drako Zarhazar who appeared to be mysteriously linked to his prize possession...
A mischievous show that mixes bawdy humour with pathos; lecture-style slide-shows with theatre, The Haunted Moustache is at heart, a damned good story that explores the stranger side of life and the nature of storytelling itself.
David's arrival in Bath also coincides nicely with his partner Rachel Blackman (best-known for her role in Matrix Revolutions and Home and Away), who will be performing her critically-acclaimed one-woman show, the Art of Catastrophe, at Bath's Theatre Royal on July 3 and 4.
Loosely inspired by the themes in Roland Barthes' A Lovers Discourse, The Art Of Catastrophe playing at the Ustinov, Bath next Friday and Saturday is a poignant and intimate look at the underbelly of love.
After a sell out season at the Brighton Fringe 2008 The Art of Catastrophe continues its UK tour with two dates in the Ustinov On July 3 and 4.
It begins on the morning you wake up and realise that you're still in the same dull job and somehow 15 years has passed since you last had sex with your husband…
Rachel Blackman stars in this poetic, dark and wryly funny piece of solo performance co-created by Blackman with director Emma Roberts and produced by Still Point with the kind assistance of the Nightingale Theatre.
Tickets for the 8pm show from the box office on 01225 448844 or on-line at www.theatreroyal. org.uk/ustinov
