Joyous music

The Chantry Singers' next concert will take place in St Michael's, Broad Street on Saturday, July 11 at 7.30pm.

The concert has little European music in it but will be an evening of joyous South and North American music.

Works include the exquisite settings of Five Negro Spirituals by Michael Tippett and a setting of the Mass by the Renaissance Mexican composer, Juan Gutiérrez de Padilla. Contemporary North American composers also featured are Morton Lauridsen, Eric Whitacre and Randall Thompson.
