It's a family affair as KES pupils reach nationals

Two pairs of brothers and sisters are looking forward to representing King Edward's at next month's British Schools' Biathlon Finals.

Dulcie and Bertie Walpole, and Lali and Ben Rhydderch qualified for the event, which takes place at Crystal Palace on Sunday, March 25, following excellent performances in the semi-final at the University of Bath in January.

In of a field of 228 Year 6 girls, Dulcie came 44th and Lali 57th. Ben was 66th in a field of 216 in the Year 6 boys' section and Bertie was 14th of the 195 Year 5 boys who competed.

Rachel Hardware, head of girls' games at King Edward's Junior School, said: "Congratulations to Dulcie, Lali, Ben and Bertie. They have worked incredibly hard and thoroughly deserve this opportunity to compete amongst the best in the country at the British Schools' Biathlon Finals.

"We wish them every success and we are extremely proud of their achievement."
