It's a Shambles
Last Friday I plodded in a daze, like many other customers, around the re-configured Waitrose in the Podium, trying in vain to locate the fish and meat counters.
Giving up, I finally left the store with only three items instead of my full shopping list.
When supermarkets engage in a full-scale randomisation of their floor layout, would it not make good sense also to give their store an appropriate new name? Waitrose could be renamed Shambles to give people going there a better idea what to expect?

“Errr... so why did you? Not being rude - just puzzled.”

“I read a letter the other week describing the new entrance area of Waitrose as 'Stalinist'. Now a new layout is 'a shambles' - a new arrangement simply because of a big increase in floor space.
Some people need to get a sense of perspective. Waste of my time reading it let alone writing a comment.”

“The fish and meat counters have been in their new location for about a month. And if you really can't find them why not ask someone?”

“I really think this is a rather silly letter. Of course it's different - it's bigger and so things have changed around. I'm sure people will get used to it. I'm not a major user of Waitrose, so I'm bound to be unfamiliar with it and I got a bit lost last time but I expect I'll sort it out.
I must admit our feelings about the new Morrison's were similar to BV_BV's. But so far the same doesn't seem to apply at Waitrose. Fingers Xed.”

“It won't be any consolation, but ever since Morrisons reorganised I could not find many of the things I went in for. I felt there were less reductions and offers since the change too. So Sainsburys gain is Morrisons loss.”
