The top prize at the Bath Society of Artists' Exhibition has gone to portrait painter Richard Twose from Wellow.

The jewellery designer took the £2,000 Victoria Prize for his oil painting Portrait of Will at the show at the Victoria Art Gallery, which runs until July 16.

During the exhibition members of the public are invited to vote for their favourite piece of work, with the winner of the People's Choice Award receiving £500.

There is a programme of free talks on Saturdays from 2.30-3.15pm, with the next on Saturday, July 9 – A Printmaker's Approach by Peter Davies.

The Bristol Guild 3D Prize went to Deborah van der Beek, while Harry Walker took the Young Artist's Prize.

The Silver Ring Choir of Bath is continuing its 60th anniversary celebrations with a concert at St Swithin's Church, The Paragon, on Saturday at 7pm.

The concert will focus on much-loved music from the choir's repertoire and a set of songs in French.

The Silver Ring Choir will be joined by the Paris choir, Chorus 14 .
