This is Bath

Bath audiences get the chance to peek behind the curtains at one of the city's recent success stories tomorrow.

Fresh from West End success and national and international tours, the people behind Theatre Royal Bath Productions (TRBP) will be shedding light on what makes a flourishing theatre production company.

This is a unique opportunity to hear how TRBP became one of Britain's most successful producing companies, and what goes into selecting plays, choosing directors, carrying out auditions, scheduling rehearsals, national tours and how to open a production in the West End.

TRBP has taken shows all over the world: from Bath to London to New York to Hong Kong.

It has produced more than 90 shows including the West End premieres of Harold Pinter's Betrayal and Mike Leigh's Abigail's Party, and the successful production of Alan Bennett's Enjoy, starring Alison Steadman, which has recently closed after an extended West End run.

The fascinating presentation by chairman Roy Griffiths, managing director Danny Moar and general manager Eugene Hibbert will be followed by questions and answers.

The presentation is being given in support of the Theatre Royal Bath Fundraisers.

Behind the Scenes with TRBP is tomorrow at noon. Tickets cost £5 on 01225 448844.
