It must be oversight
I was surprised to be informed that the Chronicle had decided to stop providing an independent review of cultural events in Bath.
At first I thought this was a hoax. I could not believe that the local newspaper with its long and proud history, and in this city of culture, would cease providing an independent review of local cultural events.
I can only assume that this decision was some sort of oversight, a result of a fit of absent mindedness brought about by the inclement August weather.
After all, there must be some 20 to 30,000 local people who participate in cultural events in Bath, even more than those who participate in sport which will no doubt continue to receive coverage.

Dear editor, let us agree that this was an oversight and that you will restore independent review.
We will pretend not to notice your errant decision and we can all, participants and audience, continue to benefit from the wise counsel your journal has consistently provided over the past few hundred years.
