Never too old for a charity walk
A 90-year-old from Weston is looking for walkers to join him in a charity event.
Fundraiser Gerry Hones is planning to walk from Avoncliff to Bradford on Avon on Tuesday to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
-

He will be catching the 11.07am train from Bath to the Avoncliff stop, and then walking two miles to Bradford on Avon in time for lunch, before catching a train back to the city.
Mr Hones decided to do the walk to express his thanks for his good fortune in reaching the age of 90.

“I walked that way this morning - had I known, I could have waited until next week!
Might I suggest to Mr Hones that he use his bus-pass to ride free to BoA and then walk to Avoncliffe for lunch - that way, he can donate to charity the money he saves on his rail fare :-)”

“Good for him! It show that exercise can keep you healthy. It's the same with regular cycling. Get out of your cars and enjoy life!”
