Climate change event attracts big crowds
The Transition Bath Big Event took place at the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution, and gave people the chance to discuss a range of environmental challenges and put on workshops.
Talks were given by speakers including environment author Mark Lynas and eco architect Piers Taylor. Participants looked at ways to reduce their personal and community carbon footprint while improving the quality of life.
Co-ordinator Christine Bone said: "It went extremely well. We were filled to capacity most of the time and the energy and discussions that were created by such a varying group were fantastic.
"There was a real feeling of 'can do' and 'let's make a difference'. It was inspiring and thanks are due to all that helped make it that way."
Transition Bath is a group of people who care about the environment and support moving to a low-carbon local economy and what they call a positive, more self-reliant community.
