Theatre's chance to grab a new audience
The Prince of Wales's Foundation for Children and the Arts has chosen the theatre to be involved with its Start programme.
This is a project which enables children who have had little or no opportunities in the arts to visit cultural venues for the first time.
The first young visitors to the theatre will be Year 7 pupils from three Bristol schools who will attend at least two professional performances as well as taking part in a series of workshops.
The director of the city centre theatre, Kate Cross, said: "We are delighted to have been given this funding because it endorses our own belief that the experience of watching live theatre is vital for a young person and that all children should be offered the opportunity to experience the world of theatre."
To find out more about getting involved with the theatre, schools should contact the egg reception on 01225 823409.
