A concept bar where customers can buy everything from drinks to the bar stools they are sitting on is due to open in Bath tomorrow.

Restaurateur Fari Nejad has joined forces with his sister-in-law and internationally acclaimed interior designer Karina Zabihi to launch Opium as a contemporary bohemian venue.

Mr Nejad has also brought his brother-in-law filmmaker Paul Zabihi on board for the bar, which will be run from four vaults on Spring Gardens Road under Pulteney Bridge.

The venue is split into four themed rooms including the Dispensary, Pandemonium, Absinthe and Decadence, which will reflect specific time periods from the early 19th century, through the Victorian era and the present day.

The bar will also contain a collection of artworks sourced from the Bath area and around the world.

Customers will be able to purchase everything in the bar from antique bar furniture to one-off original artworks on the walls and vintage pieces of bespoke jewellery used to decorate the bar.

A spokesman for Opium said: "You have the opportunity to take a part of the bar with you, or the whole bar if you have somewhere to use it.

"Having utilised local craftsmen throughout the project, Opium sets out to support local talent and provide a venue for showcasing it."

The bar in what used to be an art gallery is closed on Sundays and Mondays and open from 11am to 11pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

It will open from 11am to midnight on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
