A woman killed in an accident in which her children escaped with minor injuries had only just moved to the Bath area.

Police have named the victim of the horrific crash in Corsham as 29-year-old Leanne Harris.

Mrs Harris, who was accompanied by two children of her three children, was killed when her car was in collision with a refuse lorry at the junction of the A4 and B3109 on Thursday morning.

The incident happened at 8.45am, with her Land Rover Discovery ending up on the opposite side of the road as it pulled out onto the A4.

Both vehicles ended up crashed into a dry stone wall.

Eighteen-month-old Cameron, who fractured his shoulder blade, and six-year-old Caitlin were both taken to the Royal United Hospital for treatment while the Biffa lorry driver was treated for abdominal pains.

The Wiltshire Air Ambulance was called but in the end was not needed.

The children are now both home with their father Lee and their 11-year-old sister Kirsten, who had already been dropped off at school before the accident.

The family had moved to Corsham only two months ago and the funeral is expected to take place in Nuneaton, where Mrs Harris was from.

Family liaison officer PC Glenn Powell said: "The family are bearing up after such a traumatic and tragic incident that has robbed the children and husband Lee of Leanne at such a young age and while the family were finding their feet in Corsham."

He added that comments made on press websites indicated that a number of people had been at the scene and he urged them to come forward as witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC Mark Burnett on 0845 408 7000.
