Bath man mourned less than month after friends' death

A man from Bath has died in a car accident less than one month after two of his friends lost their lives in a crash.

Friends have been mourning Sean Skipp, who was from Twerton, who died in an accident on the M4 last week.

The 27-year-old, who had a young family, was a back seat passenger in a Peugeot 307 which crashed on the eastbound carriageway of the motorway near Chippenham.

He was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol but later died from his injuries.

The accident has come just weeks after his friends Neil Barham and Marc Warman, of Whiteway, died in a collision with an HGV in Bath.

The two cousins had been on their way back from a night out when their car collided with the lorry at the junction of Lower Bristol Road and Bellots Road.

The mother of 29-year-old Mr Warman, Lin Rosevear, said in a comment on the Chronicle website that she had watched all three of them grow up.

"Sean, I watched you grow up with my boys – you were always at my house with your brothers and you all got up to tricks, all of you always laughing getting on really well together looking after each other. What good friends you all are. You will be sadly missed by all that know you.

"Marc and Neil will be waiting for you."

Two other people in the car with Mr Skipp, who had moved from Bath to Bristol, were also hurt in the crash.

The front seat passenger, believed to be his brother, Jamie, suffered minor injuries and whiplash.

The driver was taken to the Great Western Hospital in Swindon with back injuries.

Tributes to Mr Skipp have also been posted on the website Facebook by family members and friends as well as on the Chronicle's site. His sister Katie says: "I can't stop crying."

A cousin adds: "You always had a smile on your face and could always cheer people up."

A doctor and other drivers pulled Mr Skipp out of the car through a window before the medic treated him on the hard shoulder.

Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash at 12.15pm last Thursday or anyone who saw the black Peugeot heading towards junction 17 to call them on 0845 408 7000.
