This new Rec 'scam' must be aborted now
The Charity Commission's persistent failure to respect the law and uphold the High Court judgment of 2002 is a national disgrace and display of "official abuse of public offices and tax funded resources" above the law and against the public interest with impunity, which no Government and no local MP worth having should allow to continue.
The Charity Commission's deplorable conduct and its latest potentially criminal "enablement scheme" which would bogusly authorise the illegal disposal or continuing criminal possession of any part of the Rec Trust's city centre public open space is not only a blatant abuse of the Commission's limited powers but would ultra-viresly enable yet further violation of the Rec Trust's assets for favoured multi-million pound private gain where such malignant corruption for favoured private gain if it succeeds will crate an unstoppable precedent for the fraudulent mis-use of charitable trust assets and open spaces nationally.
Jack Sparrow has rightly introduced a proper and lawful way of ensuring the Rec is returned to its lawful use and better protected in future as Bath's desperately needed "town green" it rightly is.
B&NES Council has a moral duty and legal obligation in line with the Trust's 1956 constitution to register it as such without further prevarication or public expense.

The Charity Commission has no power to proceed with any "enablement" for fraudulent disposal or criminal possession for favoured private commercial gain of any part of the Rec and the government and CPS should now intervene to ensure this latest scam, disingenuously presented as a 'scheme', is totally aborted with immediate effect.
Any challenge to the subsisting covenants and contractual obligations which run with the whole of the Rec in perpetuity is not only deplorable and against the public interest but is now statue barred by virtue of the High Court Judgment of 2002.
Bruce Craig's Bath Rugby business should develop its own land at Lambridge, conveniently placed next to motorway accesses etc or find an alternative site.
