WI takes trip to Parliament

Wednesday, November 26, 2008, 12:48

In the late 1940s or early 1950s a party of Bath Women's Institute members had an outing to the Houses of Parliament where they met Bath MP Isaac James Pitman who can be seen on this photo sent in by Memories reader Tony White from Chippenham.

He says: "Fifth from the right is my aunt Mrs Edna Rogers (nee Jenkins) who lived in Shophouse Road Twerton before moving to Guilford and then Bideford. Affectionately known as Auntie Paddy, she worked at Sir Isaac Pitman and Sons Ltd the book publishers on Lower Bristol Road Bath."
