Residents are being helped by Bath & North East Somerset Council to cut their energy bills and reduce their carbon footprint as part of national Big Energy Savings Week which runs 22nd – 27th October 2012.

Big Energy Savings Week is being organised nationally by Citizens Advice and to support the week locally, the Council has come up with five top tips to help residents get involved.

Councillor Paul Crossley (Lib-Dem, Southdown), Leader of Council, said, "At a time when energy prices are rising, Big Energy Savings Week is a fantastic opportunity for people to take control of their energy bills, whilst keeping their homes warm and comfortable. Bath & North East Somerset Council is working hard with our local public and private sector partners to support communities to adapt to changes in our climate and become less dependent on high carbon energy."
