No hurry for shoppers on late-opening night

More than 40 shops will open until 8pm next Thursday in a night of Christmas entertainment.

The Bath Business Improvement District has worked with retailers to organise the night, which will feature distinctive independents and high street brands alike.

There will be complimentary drinks in some stores, a gift-wrapping service, discounts and goody bags.

Stores taking part are in Broad Street, Green Street, New Bond Street, Milsom Place, Milsom Street, George Street, Bartlett Street, Quiet Street and Margaret's Buildings. There will be carol singing from City of Bath Bach Choir in advance of its popular annual Carols by Candlelight concerts in the Pump Room.
