Own goal helps ladies make a point
BUCCS LADIES The 1sts came from behind to draw 1-1 with Yate and remain fourth in the West Clubs League Premier Division 1 standings.
After starting the game well and forcing some brave saves from the Yate keeper, Buccs found themselves a goal down when their opponents were awarded a penalty corner which Kelly Bowden narrowly failed to keep out.
Buccs continued to control the game after going behind and were rewarded for their efforts before the break. Emma White broke down the right wing and sent in an early cross that was deflected in off a Yate defender for the equaliser.
Both defences held firm in the second half, with neither team able to find the winning goal.

The 2nds are still looking for their second win of the season after losing 3-2 to Westberries in the Premier Division 2B.
Buccs, who are one point off the bottom of the table, found themselves 3-0 down at the end of the first half. Westberries converted a penalty corner after five minutes and doubled their lead when the ball was deflected in off Alex Spencer's pads after her excellent initial save. Sloppy defending from Buccs led to Westberries' third just before the half-time whistle.
Buccs cut the deficit when Fleur Gibson finished off a good cross from Jo Adam. With time running out, the two combined again for Gibson's second of the game but Buccs were unable to complete the comeback.
Buccs 3rds conceded a goal after just 32 seconds of their match against Wimbourne and were unable to recover as they lost 2-1.
Zoe Wood's equaliser from a quick counter-attack gave Buccs hope but Wimbourne scored their winner from a short corner just before half-time.
The 4ths enjoyed a 4-1 win over Frome 2nds and sit second in the Wessex Division 1, just a point behind leaders Marlborough.
Frome cancelled out Claire Elsley's early effort to make it 1-1 at the break but strikes from Bettina Frank and Esther McMorris, together with an own goal caused by Claire Toogood's cross, meant Buccs ran out comfortable winners.
Buccs 5ths were unable to add to Claire Connell's early goal and paid the price when Mendip 3rds snatched a second-half equaliser in a 1-1 draw.
