Fire crews get the latest equipment
Fires in Bath will be tackled using some of the most advanced equipment in the UK.
A new turntable ladder fire engine has gone into action at Bath Fire Station, one of two recently bought by Avon Fire & Rescue Service and the first of their kind in the country.

They cost just over £500,000 each, and feature an 88ft ladder, a stretcher, an on board generator which supports power sockets in the cage itself, for easier use of tools and grinders, and water jets built into the floor of the cage, to help cool down any surfaces firefighters might be stepping onto.
The brigade has also bought four new combined rescue pumps, one of which will also be based in Bath.
