Fire crews go to aid of sinking boat
Fire crews in Bath were called out to help with a sinking boat last night.
One pump, the rescue tender and a safety boat were involved in an incident at 6.44pm on the river behind the former Windsor Castle pub on Lower Bristol Road.
They found that the boat’s freshwater supply system had ruptured, causing flooding in the bilge at the back of the boat.
The owner, a man in his 40s, was on board at the time, and crews helped him to pump out the water.
Water was contained in the bilge, and there was no damage to the rest of the boat.
