What do councils spend on cleaning?

Bath and North East Somerset Council has revealed it spends £3 million a year on street cleaning – more than some neighbouring authorities.

Wiltshire County Council has said it spends £1.7 million a year to clean streets and clear graffiti and South Gloucestershire Council confirmed it spent £1.6 million in the past 12 months.

In Gloucester the city council spends £1 million on street cleaning while in Bristol, the budget is £6 million for street cleansing and removing graffiti.
