These boats have ruined a wonderful view
The Bath and North East Somerset Council has given an experimental 12- month contract to a business, called RLM, to manage the mooring fees on the river, adjoining the Recreation Ground.
In doing so, RLM have moored a motley collection of several boats, which may politely be said to have seen better days.
I maintain they ruin one of the best views in Bath, across the river to the Abbey and Pulteney Bridge. Its rather like, plonking the Hilton Hotel on the lawn in front of the Royal Crescent.
Surely, the council could have applied some lateral thinking here and installed a parking meter, in the same way as for vehicles.

The parking attendants, regularly use this stretch of river and they could check the validity of moored boats, in exactly the same way as cars.
It is accepted by all that the riverside is in dire need of upgrading to maximise its visual delights.
Sadly, these dilapidated craft, do the exact opposite.
