Young people celebrated for their achievements
Young people from across the district have been celebrated by Bath & North East Somerset Council for their achievements in gaining valuable skills for life.
The Council held an event in The Guildhall, Bath, to recognise the hard work and dedication of the young people in volunteering and developing new skills by attending activities and training events at their local youth hubs/projects.
The celebration evening on 7 November brought together members of the Council's youth hubs and mobile youth project.
More than 150 people attended the celebration event to see young people being awarded for their achievements such as volunteering, being involved in staff recruitment, first aid, Baby Sitting Awareness and sports leadership.

Councillor Dine Romero (Lib-Dem, Southdown), Cabinet Member for Early Years, Children and Youth), said: "It's fantastic to be able to celebrate the achievements of so many talented and motivated young people right across our district. These awards – coupled with the continued support of our Youth Service, are a great example of Bath & North East Somerset Council's commitment to ensuring there are activities and opportunities which help young people to make a positive difference to their lives and communities."
Cllr Romero gave out Wheels Project Awards to young people for their community vehicle programme work with the Mobile Project and Peasedown and Radstock Youth Hubs, as well as Sports Leadership Awards for members of Peasedown Youth Hub.
Young people were also presented awards by Cllr Rob Appleyard, Chairman of Bath & North East Somerset Council, and Cllr Paul Crossley, Leader of the Council. The event was hosted by Dom Chambers, Station Manager of Somer Valley FM and Paula Bromley, the Council's Principal Youth Officer.
The event featured performances from Peasedown Youth Hub Bollywood Dance Group, Radstock drama group, music from Sam Evans from Peasedown and Bradley Weeks from Southside Youth hub.
