Young artists at a Bath school had a real-life model when a local politician dropped by to find out more about their drawing club.

The pupils from St Saviour's Infant School invited Councillor Rob Appleyard, the chair of Bath and North East Somerset Council, to their class so they could have a go at drawing his portrait.

It is a new after-school club for the Year 2 children and has been set up in partnership with the Bath Artists Studios, 5x5x5=creativity and the Holburne Museum.

Head teacher Ed Harker said they had all enjoyed showing off their skills to Mr Appleyard.
