Today marks the second year of IB results for The Royal High and shows a significant increase on last year's impressive points score. Students achieved an average of 36 points, way above the IB World School average of 30. A fifth of the students gained 40 points or more and over 70% of the subjects taken at the more demanding Higher Level earned 6 or 7 points (generally held to be at least equivalent to A and A* grades respectively at A Level).
Commenting on the results, a delighted Anna Weston, the college's IB Co-ordinator said: "This is a great set of results for the students and a huge boost for the IB Diploma, which is now firmly established in the college. Our IB students will be very well represented at the country's leading universities, in the most competitive subjects such as law, medicine, economics and architecture. The Diploma programme is also an excellent preparation for students going on to more vocational courses such as nursing, as it produces well rounded individuals with a strong sense of global citizenship and moral purpose."
