Woman tricked by conmen
Three men who tricked their way into a woman's house and stole her handbag and money are being hunted by Bath police.
Officers are using the crime, which happened on Monday afternoon in The Oval, as an opportunity to warn residents to be on their guard against bogus callers.
The distraction burglary at around 2pm saw three men claiming to be from "the water board" who talked their way into the 61-year-old's home. One kept her talking in the hallway while the other two went upstairs and rummaged through her drawers and cupboards. When she threatened to call the police the men left.
The woman later discovered that her handbag and cash were missing from the living room.
