Woman identified following lorry collision in Chippenham

A woman who died after a collision with a lorry at Langley Burrell near Chippenham has been formally identified. 

Barbara Lillian Wallace, 77, from Sutton Benger was driving a blue Kia Rio car when her car collided with a yellow Ford Iveco lorry driven by a 56 year old man from Gloucester. 

Barbara Wallace suffered multiple injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident happened at around 2:15pm on Mauds Heath Way.

The lorry driver was interviewed by police and was later bailed pending further enquiries.

An inquest is due to be opened in Salisbury today (Thursday, 21, March 2013).

Wiltshire Police are appealing for any witnesses who saw the collision or those who may have seen the vehicles before the collision occurred. Witnesses are asked to call Wiltshire Police on the 101 non emergency number and ask for PC David Williams from the Serious Collision Investigation team.
