BATH SUNDAY Bath Arsenal produced a fine performance after eight weeks without a game to dump Roper Rhodes Bathrooms Bath & District Sunday League Division 1 rivals London Road out of the Tom Morgan Cup.

London Road took the lead against the run of play but Arsenal roared back to win 5-1 and set up a second-round date with Division 3 side Tramways.

Liam MacFarlane rose highest from a corner to head home the equaliser after half an hour and the second half was one-way traffic. MacFarlane rounded the keeper and tapped home, before Dave Brown put away Jason Harrison's fierce cross.

Defensive midfielder Lee Aldrich curled in two 25-yarders in the space of five minutes to put the result beyond doubt before Arsenal keeper Dave Clark saved a penalty late on.

Tramways needed two extra-time goals from Shane Jones to see off the challenge of a resilient Bristol City Supporters Club side. Lee White's late penalty had cancelled out the supporters' first half opener before Jones sealed a 3-1 win.

Dave Cooper hit a hat-trick as GT Sports maintained their impressive run with an 8-1 success at Cherry Tree in the Tom Morgan Cup.

Sports missed a number of chances but still ran out convincing winners, with Ash Issacs hitting two and Ryan Weisberg and Matty Harding once apiece before substitute Dave Grey fired home from 35 yards.

Goals from James Ricco and Ashley Scott earned Kingsmead a 2-1 success at Marshfield, while KCC progressed with a 3-0 away win over Assembly. Marcus Smith's double and a Sam Pollinger effort gave the visitors their victory.

Holders Larkhall knocked out Bear Flat with a 4-2 victory in a re-run of last year's final. Two James Iversen goals and a fortunate Pillinger effort gave the Larks a 3-0 half-time lead. Iversen added a third in the second half, while Bears replied through Steve King's penalty and Jamie Ball's strike.

The Works Vultures exited the competition following a fiery home clash with Odd Down SC, who had a man sent off on their way to a 7-3 win. Robin Weston scored for the first time in three years for the Vultures, whose other two goals came from Jack Harvey.

Heritage United caused a cup upset, running out 5-1 winners over a team from the division above.

They fell behind to a PF Locomotive wonder goal before a driven Andy Spargo free- kick and a fine cross-shot from John Dennis put visitors Heritage in front at half-time.

Spargo stretched the lead with another free-kick and completed his hat-trick from the spot after the Locomotive keeper was sent off. Will Richards headed the fifth.

Neil Monaghan hit a hat- trick for Metro in their 9-3 victory at Rose & Crown in Division 4. Jim Shaw and Leon McMeechan hit two apiece for the visitors and were joined on the scoresheet by Ben Chantrell and Doug Miller.

ABS Sports defeated Athletico Bath 6-1. Martin Millard led the way with a brace, Chris Pottrell, Chris Porter and Robert Watkins hit one apiece, and Sports' half-dozen was completed by an own goal.
