Lee Mears has been dropped from the England matchday squad for Saturday's Calcutta Cup clash, with prop Davey Wilson the only Bath Rugby player in the 22.

Prop forward Wilson has a spot on the bench, with Leicester's young tighthead Dan Cole getting the nod for the starting XV.

Brive's Steve Thompson will provide cover for hooker Dylan Hartley, forcing Mears out of the squad for the match against Scotland at Murrayfield (5pm).

Lewis Moody, who announced last week he would be leaving Leicester Tigers for Bath at the end of the season, is replaced at openside flanker by London Wasps' Joe Worsley and drops to the bench.

Louis Deacon replaces the injured Simon Shaw in the second-row.

There is a newcomer on the replacements' bench in uncapped Leicester Tigers scrum half Ben Youngs.

The 20-year-old, who played for England in last summer's IRB Junior World Championship final, takes over from Paul Hodgson (London Irish).

Also added to the bench is Youngs's former England U20 teammate Courtney Lawes (Northampton Saints), who won his first cap as a replacement against Australia last November.
