Two Weir Town just about made the one-division gap tell as they knocked Nomads out of the Roper Rhodes Bathrooms Bath & District League Secretary’s Cup courtesy of a 4-3 success.

James Wellstead gave Two Weir the lead with a stinging drive and Nathan Evans swiftly made it 2-0 as Nomads’ depleted side struggled in the opening stages.

They were thrown a lifeline when Dave Chedgy was tripped in the penalty box and Gareth Paisey stroked home the resulting penalty. On the stroke of half-time, Chedgy headed home Andy Coombs’ hanging free-kick to level the scores.

Two Weir regained the lead when Evans tapped in from close range and appeared to have made the game safe when Jordan Newport made it 4-2 with ten minutes remaining. Will Withers pulled another goal back, heading in from ten yards, but the Division 4 side saw out the final stages fairly comfortably to progress to round two.

Acorn will join them after a 5-3 win at ABS, whose goals came from Anthony Banks, Chris Porter and Marcus Walters.

Atletico Bath's fine form continued as they progressed to the second round with a superb 5-1 victory over Division 5 high-flyers Alice Park Rangers.

The visitors cruised into a 4-0 lead by half-time as a combination of great passing football and incisive finishing proved too much for the Alice Park defence to handle.

Striker Joe Duncan and captain Harry Newell both grabbed a brace in the opening 45 minutes before Duncan completed another impressive hat-trick in the second half with a cracking long-range strike after the home side had pulled a goal back.

Bear Flat picked up only their fifth point of the Division 2 season as they held hosts New Inn Wanderers to a 3-3 draw. Shane Sullivan, Chris Young and Jamie Ball were on the mark for the bottom-of-the-table visitors.

Goals from Luke Corbiere, Leo Grubb and Jonathan Mayo earned Bristol City Supporters a 3-0 victory over FC Assembly.

Two clinical one-on-one finishes from striker Ishmael Faraco put PF Locomotive 2-0 up in their game against Livingstone Villa, only for their opponents to get back on level terms after the break.

Mark Johnson scored Marshfield’s consolation goal in a 5-1 division 3 defeat at Crown & Horseshoe.

James Shaw’s strike proved decisive as Metro defeated Trowbridge House 1-0 in Division 4.
