Video: Christmas number one slot beckons for Bath Gabrielle Aplin
A talented singer is being tipped for the Christmas number one slot after featuring in this year's John Lewis festive TV advert.
Gabrielle Aplin, a former City of Bath College student, has had her cover of the Frankie Goes to Hollywood classic The Power of Love chosen for the high-profile campaign.

The 20-year-old told The Independent: "I always looked forward to the adverts and I've been pestering them [John Lewis] for a long time to cover a song.
"I think they went through every female singer-songwriter in the country to find the right person. I can't believe it's actually happened. It potentially could be number one – but I don't expect it to."

She added: "The lyrics are so strong and powerful, but the song is so intricate and beautiful – I was fascinated with the juxtaposition of it.
"What I really wanted to do was strip the production away, but keep the energy of the song. And I wanted it to be minimal and wintry."
The advert, which premiered on Channel 4 last week, tells the story of a snowman's magical journey to find the perfect gift for his wife.
The song entered the official UK Top 40 Singles Chart earlier this week on downloads alone, coincidentally almost 28 years to the day after the song's original release on November 19, 1984.
After watching the advert air for the first time, Aplin, pictured, who has more than 27,800 followers on Twitter, thanked her fans for their support.
She Tweeted: "I'm actually in tears. Aha thank you so much everyone. You have no idea how much this all means xxx"
Being chosen for the John Lewis campaign means Aplin has had to delay the release of her latest single Please Don't Say You Love Me from November 18 to February 10 next year.
