Posters publicising the issue of pay and conditions have been ripped down from noticeboards in the RUH, according to unions.

Unison has said that some of its information flyers were taken down from around the hospital, including from a locked, official union board.

However, the hospital has defended its actions and said that any factually-correct posters would be allowed to remain up in staff areas.

A spokeswoman said: "Information about the Consortium was displayed on noticeboards in public areas of the hospital which contained a number of factual inaccuracies and these were therefore taken down, as would any inaccurate material on display to the public.

“So what were the factual inaccuracies I wonder? This is the same hospital management who were caught with their pants down when their clandestine membership of the consortium - and its brief - were leaked. I would be able to stomach it better if these grandees were going to take a cut in pay and have their own entitlements slashed. This won't be the case though.”
