Tunley Athletic failed to halt table-topping Radstock Town Reserves in the Somerset League Division 2 East as they suffered a 3-1 home defeat on their return to action after a two-week break.

Matt Doughty hit the crossbar with a header as Tunley began well and they were rewarded for their pressure in the 12th minute when Chris Young’s well-taken effort put them in front.

Tunley continued to press but were caught on the break ten minutes later as Jordan Townsley bagged the equaliser. They survived a let-off when Radstock missed a penalty but fell behind when a defensive mix-up gave Ben Flower the chance to pick his spot.

Ted Green extended Radstock’s lead before the break and, although Jason Curtis hit a post and Young went close in the second half, Tunley could not recover.
