TEAM OF THE MONTH The wet weather and a break in the league fixture programme could not prevent three teams in the Bath area from impressing on the rugby field during November.

The trio are all in the running for November's Bath Chronicle/Greensward Sports Consultancy Team of the Month and will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of previous 2012-13 winners Combe Down and Stothert & Pitt.

Up for grabs, courtesy of Greensward Sports Consultancy and Wadworth, is a case of beer and some signed Bath Rugby merchandise.

BRADFORD ON AVON A win and a draw saw the Wiltshire outfit end the month unbeaten. They followed up a thumping 55-7 away derby victory over struggling Trowbridge 2nds with a 24-24 draw against Calne in Dorset & Wilts 1 North.

COLERNE The Dorset & Wilts 3 North table-toppers look a good bet for the title after extending their winning start to the season to eight matches in November. They hammered visiting Pewsey Vale 2nds 64-5 and won 27-3 at Warminster 2nds before seeing off nearest rivals Calne 2nds 15-7 in a thrilling match at Higgins Field.

OLDFIELD Bath's highest- ranked junior club remain in relegation trouble in South West 1 West but showed signs of an upturn in form against three sides sitting in the top half. Wadebridge Camels were defeated 23-22 at Shaft Road and Oldfield fought back well to draw 29-29 at Thornbury before being halted in a 30-12 home loss to high-flying Old Redcliffians.

Every team that takes the monthly accolade during the 2012-13 season will be eligible for our new Team of the Year award. A superb prize package includes a Wadworth Brewery tour for the entire team, with beer to take home, an end-of-season pitch renovation package worth more than £1,000, courtesy of Greensward, and an executive box at one of Bath Rugby's pre-season friendlies.

To be in with a chance of winning the monthly prize, junior and senior clubs should submit match reports to sport@bathchron.co.uk by close of play on a Monday.

The Chronicle's local rugby coverage is sponsored by Greensward Sports Consultancy, a Bath-based company specialising in a high standard of construction and maintenance of schools and sportsground facilities.
