A Bath man who underwent a life-saving heart transplant 15 years ago has written an interactive, multi-media book for the iPad.

James Tottle, 41, has spent the past six months working on Space Cadet 56 Book 1, a graphic novel which included 200 cartoons and seven songs.

He teamed up with iPad developer Intohand and co-author David Inker, 44, who has also faced physical challenges after being paralysed because of a spinal injury.

Mr Tottle said his book told the story of the mysterious Patient 56, who, trapped in the sinister New York Hospital for Mind Care, is helped by nurse Hope Thompson who believes he could be a long-lost astronaut.

He said: "Space Cadet 56 Book 1 is fiction, though it does draw on my personal experience."

It is available to download from iTunes and is also a free app. For more information visit www.spacecadet56.co.uk.
