A collection for the Bath Foodbank charity at the Sainsbury's store at Odd Down netted more than a tonne of food.

Foodbank volunteers were joined by staff from Wessex Water, who are supporting it as their charity of the year.

Also present was Janet Rowse, chief executive of Sirona Care and Health, which has also made Foodbank its charity of the year and is encouraging its 1,700 staff to give practical support by donating food or volunteering at collections.

Customers donated 1.158 tonnes of food to help maintain the service Foodbank offers to people in need in the Bath area.
