Bath’s Tom Church claimed a fourth-place finish in the penultimate round of the E22 Arenacross UK series at Birmingham’s LG Arena.

Church and SR75 World Team powered by Molson colleague Carl Nunn were up against tough opposition from Britain, France and South Africa on a soft, power-sapping surface.

But their KTM 350 bikes ran well once again, with Church finishing 7.519secs behind winner Jack Brunell in the Pro final. Adam Chatfield was second, with Cyrille Coulon completing the podium places.

A battered and bruised Nunn finished ninth but did well to make the final after suffering a big crash in his first heat race.

Church said: “I was pretty happy with my result at the LG, it was a difficult night as the track was really challenging.

“I had two solid heat races but didn’t make the best starts in either heat. I put it right in the final and started third.

“I lost a position to the French rider, Coulon, late in the race, which was disappointing as I would have liked to be on the podium.”

The series concludes at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on Sunday.
