Toby at the treble as Avonvale see off neighbours
Toby B scored a hat-trick of tries as Avonvale under-13s asserted their authority over Combe Down with a 37-0 home win on Sunday.
Elliot pounced on a loose ball for the opening score after his team-mates had powered over the line, while Harry also touched down twice and Jake kicked a conversion.
There was also the score that got away, with outside centre Scot brilliantly running the full length of the pitch but touching down five metres short of a try line which had been hidden all week under snow.
The match saw big tackles from both sides but Vale’s forwards were dominant in defence, no more so than in the second half when they held off a determined push on the line by Down.
