Bradford on Avon's 14th century Tithe Barn will be the focus of high drama when it opens its doors for the first time in over ten years to an award winning local group.

The Bradfordians are staging their production of Arthur Miller's compelling piece The Crucible there from June 29 to July 2 at 7.30pm.

Local residents who come to the play will see quite a transformation from a beautiful historical building to a full stage set, which has been specially designed and constructed to protect the integrity of the setting.

Director Kate Courage said: "We are thrilled to be using the venue again for a community event. It suits the story perfectly and lends exactly the right mood to the very dramatic events of the play."

As always members of the audience are invited to make an occasion of it, enjoying a picnic and a glass of wine beside the river before curtain up. Tickets cost £12, £10 and £8 from Bradford on Avon library or on 01225 863816.

Timing is the first play by impressionist, actor and writer Alistair McGowan and as you might expect it is a comedy. It plays next Wednesday to Saturday at the Rondo Theatre, Bath at 8pm.

When Julian Mann goes to work one morning to record a sat-nav commercial, little does he expect to working along-side his ex. She's not just any ex either– she's the woman who captured his heart, shared his life for five years then left him and hasn't spoken to him since.

Core Theatre are a local company who consistently produce theatre of an astonishingly high standard. Their last production was Shakespeare's Macbeth which wowed audiences at the Rondo.

Shakespeare Live's production this year is Hamlet with Bath actor Matt Nation in the title role.

The show show runs in the grounds of Lackham House, Lacock from July 5 to 9 at 7.30pm each evening. The beautiful gardens at Lackham House will be open for picnics before each performance.

A new play by Feargus Woods Dunlop called The Happy Couple gets an airing tomorrow night at the Rondo Theatre Bath.

The play performed by New Old Friends deal the relationship between two people who love each other.

They love each other at the start, all the way through and even at the end. But there is also comedy along the way.

Bath Opera performs Mozart's Marriage of Figaro at the Rondo Theatre, Larkhall on Saturday at 7.30pm.

One of Mozart's most popular operas it is a comedy of manners with pathos, humour and many misunderstandings.

An Instinct for Kindness is at the Ustinov Studio, Bath on Monday and Tuesday June 27 and 28. Performances are each evening at 8pm.
