Team Bath clinch Wiltshire Road Relay title
Team Bath AC's senior men clinched the Wiltshire Road Relay title at the Castle Combe Circuit on Sunday.
The quartet of Dave Coales, Max Hazell, Alex Jones and Alex Hill finished 73 seconds ahead of runners-up Swindon, with Avon Valley Runners a further 34 seconds back in third place.
Coales ran the opening stage, which comprised two laps of the 3km racing circuit, and came home second in 19mins 51secs – 50 seconds adrift of Swindon's Chris Reade.
Hazell (19:58) ran a strong second leg to put Team Bath into a lead which they never lost as the two Alexs – Hill posting the club's fastest time of the day in 19:07 – stretched the advantage for a combined effort of 1hr 21:18.

In the junior event, Team Bath's Jade Littlechild, Sasha Nugara, Katie Strange and Caitlin Woisika finished third behind Avon Valley Runners and Chippenham.
Team Bath's Paul King finished 23rd overall and first veteran over-50 in the Sodbury Slog nine-mile multi-terrain race.
He clocked 67:46, while club-mate Tom Hutchison (68:40) was 29th and second veteran over-50 in a record field of 1,040.
At the second Gwent Cross-Country League match in Brecon, Team Bath's Loren Beaken finished second in the joint under-20/17 women's race.
University of Bath won the senior men's team race after beating Cardiff University Harriers by 52 points. John Bird led the way in third spot, with Max Thomas and Anupam Das also making the top 20 in 16th and 17th places respectively.
Student Rosie Clarke was the runner-up in the senior women's race, while Great Britain modern pentathlete Freyja Prentice also made the top ten in eighth.
Team Bath's Zina Marchant finished 89th overall and second veteran over-60 at the British & Irish Masters Cross-Country International in Belfast at the weekend.
The first race in the 2012-13 Bath Skyline Series is scheduled for Sunday (11am), with entries being taken on the day at the University of Bath Sports Training Village. For further details, see www. relishrunningraces.com.
Westbury's White Horse Gallop five-mile multi-terrain race – up the top and back down again – takes place from Leighton Recreation Centre on Sunday.
