Team Bath Buccaneers under-18s suffered shoot-out heartbreak on Sunday as they were cruelly denied a place in the EHB Cup semi-finals.

They had shown tremendous fighting spirit to twice come from behind against Cannock in normal time, with man of the match Ben Stone coolly dinking the ball over the advancing keeper for the first equaliser.

After conceding a second on the break and seeing a shot hit the post before spinning across goal, Buccs deservedly levelled again when Seward managed to wriggle free in the D and finish with a crisp shot.

Buccs continued to create the best chances but couldn’t find a winner and paid the price as Cannock won 5-4 on penalty flicks.

However, coach Paul Matthews, manager David Horler and their team can take a great deal of positives both from the game and the cup run.
