BUCCS LADIES Table- topping Exe were beaten 2-1 by Team Bath Buccs Ladies at the Sports Training Village.

Amid the hysteria of the BBC filming Superstars at the same venue, Buccs started well and got their reward when Elianne Vos slipped the ball past the Exe keeper.

Rachel Clarke made crucial tackles and keeper Kelly Bowden vital saves to ensure Buccs were still 1-0 up at half-time.

Following an inspirational team talk from coach Jo Thomas, Buccs began the second half confidently but conceded an equaliser from a short corner.

Buccs then had a goal from a short corner chalked off but deservedly grabbed the winner when Jess Rickman played a ball into the circle and Irena Molloy skilfully deflected it past the keeper.

Buccs 3rds climbed up to third spot in the East Division table after beating Weymouth 1-0 on a miserable afternoon.

Sound defending from player of the match Nicky Wilson, Scarr, Steele, Perrio and Lundgren kept Weymouth at bay and Buccs' perseverance at the other end paid off when a corner routine was deflected in by Zoe Wood.

More good work from Wilson and an amazing lunging save from keeper Nicole New protected Buccs' lead after the break.

Penny Mead struck for Buccs 4ths in their 1-1 draw with Marlborough.

Four goals from Claire Connell and a fine debut effort from Emma Claggett capped a fine team performance from the 5ths, who defeated Clevedon 5-1 at the university.
