Students' journey of discovery
Forty aerospace students from the University of Bath enjoyed a visit to Rolls-Royce where they were given an insider's view of the industry this week.
The students, all in their penultimate year of study, are now beginning to think about their careers after graduation and the visit gave them a chance to meet one of the biggest employers in the sector.
Through their studies at Bath, the group has gained a real understanding of the theoretical elements of aerospace engineering, and such industry visits and their placement year aim to introduce them to the practical aspects of the manufacturing and engine assembly process.
Rolls-Royce gave the students an insight into the diverse markets in which the firm operates, from commercial aircraft production through to nuclear power stations.
