Snow White back at the Theatre Royal in Bath after 20 years
Mirror, mirror on the wall, which of this year’s panto crop will be the best of all?
The answer looks like being the spectacular family show Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs which opens just before Christmas at the Theatre Royal Bath.

In fact it is only the second time the show has been seen at the Theatre Royal and was last there in 1991.
And there was a brief taste of some of the good things to come when the stars of the show came to Bath yesterday for a photo call at the Bath Spa Hotel.

Nichola McAuliffe from TV’s Surgical Spirit and Coronation Street, who was earlier in the year in Bath to star in The Lady in the Van, stars as the Wicked Queen in this year’s family-friendly show.
Nichola says she is delighted to be playing the wicked Queen.
“There are not many evil roles for women, although I have played Lady Macbeth,” she says. “How will I play it? We haven’t started rehearsals yet but I shall be evil.”
And yesterday it was announced that less than a month after the pantomime closes Nichola will be back at the Theatre Royal in a play that she wrote herself.
This year her play Maurice’s Jubilee had its world premiere at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
As well as writing the play she starred in it with Julian Glover and Sheila Reed winning this year’s Best Actress Award for Acting
Excellence making her the first performer ever to win the Edinburgh award twice.
Nicola will come to the Theatre Royal Bath on the play’s first UK tour at the beginning of February.
This year’s pantomime opens on December 13 and runs until January 13.
Appearing with Nichola are panto dame extraordinaire Chris Harris as Nurse Nelly, the irrepressible Jon Monie as Muddles and Laura Clements as Snow White.
As usual local youngsters from the Dorothy Coleborn School of Dance will also be taking part while a company of small people will be playing the dwarfs.

“Why does Chris Harris get the role of Dame every year, it stops someone well known being cast for the part, which would be a crowd puller.”
