Sign up for stage of Tour
CYCLING Non-professional cyclists are being urged to sign up for next month's L'Étape du Tour of 'Little' Britain.
The event was set up to give cyclists an opportunity to experience the highs and lows of the 187km Stage 6 of the Tour of Britain from Frome to Bideford on Sunday, September 6.
L'Étape du Tour (French for 'stage of the Tour') is a popular event in France that allows amateur cyclists to race over the same route as a Tour de France stage.
Age and stamina is not a barrier for those wishing to take part and the race is open to everyone who would like to have a go. Sarah Street and her friends from the Bath Amphibians Tri club have already entered.
She said: "Riding a stage of the Tour of Britain is a great idea and I am looking forward to the challenge."
Contestants will need to register between 7am and 10am at Frome's Live2Ride cycling shop on the day.
Anyone interested in taking part can contact Anne Tattersall on 07971 696192 or anne_communicate@hotmail.com.
