See Shrek classic and raise money for new baby unit
A big green ogre will be helping to raise money for the Forever Friends Appeal next month.
The hospital appeal is staging an outdoor screening of
Shrek Forever After.
Money from the event will go to the appeal's Space to Grow campaign to build a new neonatal intensive care unit at the Royal United Hospital.
The screening will take place on Saturday, September 25, at 7.30pm at Lansdown Cricket Club, next to the hospital.
Entry to the screening is free, though everyone attending will be encouraged to donate a minimum of £5 per person.
There will be a Shrek fancy dress competition and games.
Spaces at the screening – which is being made possible by Filmair Cinema Services and the cricket club – are limited so people are urged to arrive early.
One in ten babies are born prematurely and the unit needs more space to cope with the numbers.
The new unit will be more than double the size of the current one and will offer much needed space and privacy for babies and their families.
