Second-half spree helps Old Sulians beat Bath Saracens in Combination Plate
A 41-7 victory over a competitive Bath Saracens outfit took Old Sulians through to the next round of the Bath Combination Vase.
Sarries had most of the play and territory in the opening half-hour but were unable to breach the Sulians line.
After some stern words from skipper Kelsey during a break in play, Sulians opened their accound through Webber’s try, which was converted by Lyons.
Second-row Backhouse quickly followed him over the whitewash after good work by the three-quarters but Sarries had the final word of the half with a smart try that cut the gap to 12-7 at the interval.

With the wind at their backs, Sulians dominated the second half as centres France and Gregory created space.
Backhouse completed a try treble and France touched down twice, while Lewis joined them on the scoresheet and Lyons added a couple of conversions.
Sulians, who will face Avonvale in the next round, will tackle North Petherton 2nds at home in Somerset 1 on Saturday.
