Rugby legend Matt Perry boxes clever for players' charity
A former Bath Rugby player will be swapping his boots for a pair of boxing gloves as he prepares to take part in a charity fight.
Matt Perry, who retired from the sport in 2007 and now works for management consultancy firm The Wilsher Group in Monkton Combe, is taking to the ring for an event in London next month.
Rugger in the Ring has been organised to raise money for the testimonial charities of fellow rugby stars Tom Shanklin and Mark Cueto and Perry is preparing to fight Wigan rugby league legend Martin Offiah.
There will be other bouts featuring Leeds Rhino coach Brian McDermott, Hull's Lee Radford, St Helen's star Sean Long and Munster's Alan Quinlan.

Meanwhile the headline fight will be between Samoan legend Freddie Tuilagi and Wales forward Colin Charvis.
Perry offered up some fighting talk ahead of the event on November 6, warning Offiah to "bring it on".
The 35-year-old was born in the city and was a talented cricketer and rugby player when he was growing up.
However, rugby was in the family as both his grandfather Idris and father Brendan had played for Bath, and he went on to have a successful career for both his home club and country.

Meanwhile, Bath's Olympic heroes Helen Glover and Samantha Murray have teamed up to search for a winning lot in BBC's Bargain Hunt.
Glover, who won TeamGB's first gold medal at the London Olympic with victory in the women's pairs rowing and Murray, who clinched a silver in the modern pentathlon, are taking part in a special celebrity edition of the hit TV show for Children In Need.
The celebrity edition of Bargain Hunt will be screened on November 16, ahead of the Children in Need telethon.
