As its opening offering this company gave a wonderful interpretation of the story of feuding families and tragic death in what must be one of the best performances we have seen from this company.
Today the dancers are giving two performances of Swan Lake and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday performances of Sleeping Beauty.
These are big story ballets and the very essence of Russian culture each composed, choreographed and premiered in Russia and combining all the virtuosity, technique, narrative and of course live music which gives us access to one of the world's great entertainment traditions.
A great introduction to that tradition if you haven't seen it before or a chance to relive old pleasures.
